Dahlia Tuber Terms of Sale

Please read the following information carefully before placing an order. By purchasing from Piako Botanicals, you acknowledge and accept the terms outlined below.

Our Tubers

All tubers offered for sale are grown in Waikato, New Zealand from our own stock through tuber division or cuttings. Each tuber has been grown on our farm for at least one season before being offered for sale.

Our tubers are harvested, divided, inspected, and stored with care before being shipped ready for spring planting.

Tuber Appearance and Viability

Dahlia tubers naturally vary in shape and size depending on the variety. Some tubers may be large, small, single tubers, or small clumps. This is completely normal.

All tubers are checked for visible eyes at the time of division and handled carefully throughout storage and packing.

Please note that some shrivelling during storage is normal and does not affect viability.

On Arrival

Please inspect your tubers upon arrival.

If there are any concerns with your order, including damage during transit or concerns regarding tuber quality, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and include photographs where possible so we can assess the issue.

Storage and Growing Conditions

Once tubers have been delivered, the purchaser is responsible for their care and storage until planting time.

Growing success can be influenced by many factors outside our control, including soil conditions, climate, pests, watering, storage conditions, and gardening practices. For this reason, we do not offer refunds or replacements for tubers that fail to grow after planting.

Disease and Garden Hygiene

We take great care to maintain healthy growing stock and follow careful hygiene practices throughout digging, dividing, storage, and packaging processes.

However, disease can exist naturally within soil and may also be spread through insects, environmental conditions, or gardening tools outside our control. Piako Botanicals accepts no responsibility for disease occurring after tubers have been planted in the purchaser’s garden.

Availability and Substitutions

All tubers are subject to availability.

In the unlikely event that a variety does not store well or becomes unavailable prior to dispatch, Piako Botanicals reserves the right to issue a refund or offer a suitable replacement.

If a variety is believed to be incorrectly labelled, please contact us with your order confirmation and photographs so we can review the issue.

Right to Cancel

Piako Botanicals reserves the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion. If this occurs, a full refund will be issued.
